Blades are the main components with aerodynamic shapes that rotate the wind turbine around its axis. As one of the most important components of wind turbines, blades directly affect the power generation efficiency of wind turbines. As the running time of the blades increases, many quality problems will occur, and regular inspections and maintenance of the blades are usually required.
1. Inspection and maintenance of lightning protection system
(1) Check if the lightning protection system circuit is intact. Use the buzzer gear of a multimeter to test for conductivity from the blade root to the spindle grounding carbon brush.
(2) Check for lightning damage to the blades.
Small areas of damage may occur near the blade tip;
There are burn marks on the surface of the blades, which appear to be grease or oil stains from a distance:
• Blade tip or edge cracking;
There are longitudinal cracks on the surface of the blade;
• Crack in the middle of the shell;
When the blades slowly rotate, they make a clicking sound.
2. Inspection and maintenance of blade bolts
(1) Using the specified torque as the standard, check whether all bolt torques during blade installation meet the requirements.
(2) Visually inspect the appearance of the bolts connecting the wheel hub to the main shaft, blades, and pitch bearings for rust and damage.
